An Herb of Protection and the Spirit World

Mullein has a long and storied history in folk magic as an herb of protection and spirit communication. Its tall, torch-like stalks were historically dipped in tallow and used as torches in ritual, and its energy carries that same quality: illuminating, grounding, and deeply connected to the liminal spaces between the living and the dead. A powerful ally for banishing, warding, and working with ancestral spirits.

How to Work With It

  • Burn as incense to protect sacred space and keep unwanted spirits or energies at bay
  • Use in ancestral work and spirit communication rituals to open safe channels of connection
  • Add to banishing sachets or spell jars to drive away negativity and harmful influences
  • Incorporate into protection washes or floor sweeps to ward your home and threshold

Lovingly packaged at Déjà Vu Esoterica by our house witches.
