Why I don't use plastic

There is a prophecy among the Lakota that a terrible black snake would once rise from the deep and bring with it great destruction and sorrow. It was said that it would come and slither across the earth, desecrating the sacred sites, poisoning the water across all lands, and eventually killing all of creation. It is widely believed that this prophecy is referring to petroleum.

On a spiritual level and an environmental level I do not fuck with plastic. If this is the physical embodiment of the wholesale destruction of our world I don’t find it very wise to use it. I choose glass or wood or something biodegradable for my home every time I get the chance. When it comes to my magical tools I would rather go empty handed than to use something made from oil. No resin knives, no glitters, no plastic stands for crystals. Wood, glass, and metals only if I can help it. I urge every human and witch to do the same.
